Disability Issues Forum

What

CTD partnered with ADAPT of Texas, the Disability Voting Action Project (DVAP), the Arc of Texas, and Texas Parent to Parent to host the Texas Disabilities Issues Forum (TxDIF) in the Fall of 2014. The Forum was an opportunity for voters with interests and concerns about issues affecting Texans with disabilities to learn about the positions and potential policies of candidates from the Republican and Democrat parties, running for the top three statewide offices (Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General).

Candidates Wendy Davis (for Governor), Leticia Van de Putte (for Lt. Governor), and Sam Houston (for Attorney General) attended.

The Forum organizers sent 18 questions to each of the invited candidates in order to learn about their stance on disability issues. Candidates' responses are posted the Forum homepage.
