Capitol News: May 27

And the 83rd Texas Legislative Session is over! CTD has had both wins and losses, learned some lessons, and made new friends and allies. After we've had a nap (or two!), we'll start working to compile our advocacy efforts and results into a Legislative report. Stay tuned over the next several weeks for this! In the meantime, we'll send out a summary of our legislative work in our newsletter and keep you up to date with any potential special session items.

Sydney holds one corner of a banner and smiles at the camera. Before we sign off this week, CTD would like to thank and recognize our outstanding spring semester policy intern, Sydney Paschall (left, at the My Medicaid Matters March & Rally, March 5). Sydney began her internship with us in January as part of her coursework at the University of Texas School of Social Work. She has been an invaluable member of the CTD team this session, analyzing policy, making legislative visits, and contributing to community organizing efforts. If you've been around the Capitol this session, you've probably seen Sydney! We wish we could keep her, and we wish her the best as she begins the next chapter of her career! Thank you, Sydney!
