Disabled parking abuse is a growing problem across Texas. When disabled parking spaces are not available it limits the ability of Texans with disabilities to access necessary goods, services and jobs many people take for granted. While 18% of Texans have a disability or mobility impairment, less than 4% of parking spaces are set aside for their needs. Abuse stresses this already short supply and creates a dangerous situation for people with disabilities.
