A letter to the Texas Legislature from Julia

A young woman leans on her folded arms out of a car window and smiles at the camera. When I was 5 years old, my life suddenly changed. I was diagnosed with epilepsy and until recently, suffered from 200 seizures a day. But because of CBD, I’ve gotten my life back and freedom to live life like a normal student. I even got my driver’s license.

CBD has been clinically proven to help patients with MS, epilepsy, autism, cancer, and PTSD. But Texans across the state are suffering and do not have access to medicine like CBD. The Texas Legislature is considering expanding access to CBD.

A letter to the Texas Legislature from Thalia and Lance

A young man smiling directly at the camera is seated on a couch next to a woman, who smiles proudly at him.Lance is autistic and was struggling with behavior problems - aggression and outbursts prevented our family from going out in public together. But we didn’t stop looking for treatment. I first heard about CBD treatments from my church group in 2012. Eventually, we started CBD treatments, and immediately, Lance’s aggression decreased by about 70%. Our family was finally able to live again. We even go out together and love going to the movies.

A letter to the Texas Legislature from Jean Paul

A man looks somberly past the camera, with the Texas State Capitol out of focus in the backgroundI was proud to serve the United States in the Marine Corps, but the trauma and PTSD I experienced became too much. Toxic opioids weren’t the answer. I found hope in CBD. It helps manage my pain and PTSD. But many veterans in Texas don’t have access. CBD is a medicine and it should be treated like it.

A letter to the Texas Legislature from Mike

A man sits on bench outdoors, tents fingers, and looks directly into the camera.I survived four cancers and 75 surgeries. Eventually, the pain became overwhelming and my only option for comfort were prescribed opioids. I became addicted.

With the support of family and friends, I now live a life free of narcotics and have been able to manage my pain with CBD, freeing myself from addiction and back to living life. I lost five years to addiction but now I manage my pain with CBD.

If cancer patients like me had access to quality CBD, they may find a better path to healing.

A letter to the Texas Legislature from Freeman

Standing in 3/4 profile to the camera is a smiling young man with braces and a backpackSince the age of three I have had refractory epilepsy. Last year my life spun out-of-control. I was experiencing up to 50 seizures a day. This prevented me from going to school, playing sports, and being a normal kid. But I was prescribed CBD and within a matter of days, I went from having 50 seizures a day to zero. All I wish is that other people had the same opportunity as me with medical CBD.

CBD has been clinically proven to help patients with MS, epilepsy, autism, cancer and PTSD. But Texans across the state are suffering and do not have access to medicine like CBD. The Texas legislature is considering expanding access to CBD.
