William Greer Runs California Marathon

The California International Marathon (CIM) is a marathon organized by runners, for runners! CIM was founded in 1983 by the Sacramento Running Association (SRA), bringing a world-class running event to the Sacramento area. The CIM is certified and sanctioned by USATF, and therefore is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon and Olympic Marathon Trials. The scenic 26-mile, 385-yard course runs from Folsom Dam to the State Capitol in Sacramento.

William was invited to run in the CIM by Richard Hunter, a fellow runner from the Boston Marathon. He gladly accepted this invitation and ran with Richard and two sighted guides in California. He finished in 3 hours, 55 minutes. The CIM, William's 12th marathon, occured roughly two months after his trip to run in Chicago.
